The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) at Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Hyderabad Campus is dedicated to advancing education, research, and innovation in intelligent and data-driven technologies. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are at the forefront of solving complex real-world problems in today’s data-centric society, with applications spanning healthcare, Industry 4.0, finance, agriculture, cybersecurity, law, smart governance, and environmental management. Recognizing the growing global demand for AI-skilled engineers, the department aims to develop industry-ready professionals with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities.
The department is supported by experienced and research-oriented faculty who are actively engaged in high-quality research, publications, and funded projects, including collaborations with industry partners, reputed international universities, and leading research laboratories. Students are encouraged to participate in application-oriented and research-driven projects in collaboration with industry, R&D labs, research centers, and global academic institutions. The program emphasizes the holistic development of students through global immersion programs, internships, industry co-teaching, certification courses, workshops, and project-based teaching–learning methodologies. To enhance industry relevance and employability, strategic MoUs, academic–industry partnerships, technology collaborations, and learning platform engagements have been established with SmartBridge Educational Services Pvt. Ltd., CodeTantra Software, the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence, Telangana, MongoDB for Academia Program, and Infosys Springboard. These associations enable industry-aligned training, strengthened coding and problem-solving skills, access to advanced tools and digital learning platforms, certification pathways, research and innovation opportunities, and specialized cybersecurity exposure. In addition, collaboration with the Microsoft AI Innovators HUB enables Microsoft-led projects, advanced research opportunities, industry mentorship, and hands-on AI exposure, preparing graduates for successful careers and higher studies in emerging technology domains.
