Symbiosis Institute of Technology offers following Dual Degree Programs:

  • B.Tech (Computer Science Engineering) – with specialization in Data Science in partnership with Deakin University, Australia
  • B.Tech (Computer Science Engineering) – with specialization in Cyber Security in partnership with Deakin University, Australia
  • Application Submission:
    • Application process remains the same as per the admission process for first-year B.Tech. at SIT, Hyderabad.
    • Admission will be carried out through online application mode as per the regular admission process for first-year B.Tech. at SIT, Hyderabad.
    • Students must apply for the Dual Degree Program during their 1st semester admission when the form is floated to all admitted students before the commencement of the semester.
    • Required documents include 10th and 12th passing certificates and marks in the English language.
  • Selection and Evaluation:
    • A joint admission committee from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Hyderabad, and the Partner University will review the applications.
    • All admitted students who have filled out the dual degree application form will be merit-listed based on the eligibility criteria.
    • Merit-listed candidates will be called to attend a personal interview session.
    • The final selected students must confirm their admission within the stipulated time by signing the undertaking form. Waitlisted candidates will be given preference if the undertaking is not received.
    • Students’ eligibility checks will be carried out every semester as per the eligibility norms of the dual degree program.

This dual degree program will allow the students to obtain a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science & Engineering from SIT, Hyderabad and a Bachelor of Data Science (Honours)/ Bachelor of Cyber Security from Deakin University. The new offerings will extend brilliant opportunities for ambitious Indian students to get a two-year work visa (Extension is subject to the policy changes of the Australian Government), opening avenues for global career outcomes. The program allows students to complete two years of study at Symbiosis (SIT) followed by two years at Deakin University. On completion, students will earn:

  • Repeating Courses in the First Year:
    • You may be required to repeat specific courses from Semester 1 or Semester 2 if you fail to clear them on the first attempt.
  • Backlogs in the Second Year:
    • If you have a backlog in Semester 3 or any live backlogs from Semester 1 or 2, you will be disqualified from the dual degree program.
  • Transfer to the Regular B.Tech Program:
    • Disqualified students will be shifted to the regular B.Tech program.
    • Such students must pay the difference in fees for the upcoming semesters.

  • Cancellation After Program Commencement:
    • Within 30 Days:
      • If you cancel after joining the program and the vacant seat is filled by another candidate within 30 days from the program's start date, the deposit is fully refundable.
      • Academic, hostel, and mess fees are refunded after pro-rata deductions.
    • Beyond 30 Days:
      • If the seat remains unfilled after 30 days, only the deposit is refundable; academic, hostel, and mess fees are non-refundable.
    • Non-Refundable Fees:
      • Certain fees, such as those for pre-induction modules, foundation courses, bridge courses, and medical insurance, are non-refundable regardless of the cancellation timing.

  • Declining an Offer:
    • If you decide not to proceed with your offer from Deakin, you should formally decline it. This can be done by completing the necessary form available on Deakin's official website.
  • Deferring Admission:
    • If you wish to delay your studies rather than cancel, Deakin allows deferrals—up to two years for domestic students and one year for international students.
